the ball game

After seeing so many movies where the game was the main character or the main character was in the game, finally I had a chance to go see it in real life.

For a no-fan of sports like me, it could be a boring evening. Enduring three to four hours of watching players standing at the corner of a field, waiting, waiting, and some times hitting a small ball. Also, for someone who grew up seeing everybody go crazy over twenty two men running back and forth in a rectangular field, the scarce number of players standing in that square could be intriguing and bewildering.

However, my first attendance to a baseball game was a blast! I was invited by a friend to join him and other friends in a suite. It was great fun, sitting in the sofas and socializing, eating, walking around taking pictures, and sometimes looking at the game. I had to ask some important and profound questions, like who is the team dressed in white [The Sacramento River Cats] and the one in red [The Salt Lake Stingers], as well as if there was not any intermission, or if was it close to be over, and why they were just standing there, waiting. My questions were answered with kindness and tolerance, and I felt very happy to be able to experience the most American game of them all.
